We all have a special time in our life that stays with us and directs
us. One of these times for me was a sixth grade class trip to Nebraska City, Nebraska to visit the Morton Arboretum
and J. Sterling Morton's beautiful estate. You may know him as the founder of Arbor Day. We toured the mansion,
the grounds and children's garden. At that time, I didn't realize it, but a seed was planted inside me.
For a while I lived on a farm outside Omaha, Nebraska where I roamed the fields and walked through
my parents orchard. As I grew, the seed of appreciation for trees grew.
Since
Nebraska, I've lived in Oregon, Wyoming, Illinois, and now Colorado. Along the way I worked as a flight attendant for
a major airline while I completed my college education with Loyola University and Depaul University in Chicago. From
there I journeyed into jobs and careers in commercial recording, advertising, educational development with three major
professional trade associations, and the legal profession.
From all these experiences
I discovered that all people possess a unique relationship with trees and the trees they draw. Somehow I think people
have a natural affinity for trees, which makes it such a simple way to help them draw a tree and gain a better understanding
of themselves.
I am currently pursuing an M.A. degree in public relations and marketing
from the University of Denver.
I live in Colorado with my husband and two Ragdoll
cats. Whenever possible we head to the Rocky Mountains to enjoy the great outdoors.
